GoT star’s surprising script decision

WITH Game of Thrones coming to an end, both fans and the actual stars of the show are all having trouble dealing with it — especially Kit Harington.

When the cast and crew first assembled ahead of filming for season eight, Harington — who has played Jon Snow since the beginning of the series — refused to open the email producers had sent him with the six final scripts.

“I walked in (to the table read) saying, ‘Don’t tell me, I don’t want to know,’” Harington told Entertainment Weekly. “What’s the point of reading it to myself in my own head when I can listen to people do it and find out with my friends?”

Going in blind meant that his reactions were more extreme as the scenes unfolded — in fact, he admits to openly crying twice.

According to the publication, the only other star who hadn’t read through the final scripts before the cast read was Liam Cunningham, who plays Davos Seaworth — and that was only because he couldn’t get past the password-controlled gateway in the email.

For everyone other than the cast and crew, there’s still months to go until we find out how the story unfolds.

The eighth season is expected to premiere sometime around April — although it could be even later, if this comment about the 2020 Emmy Awards from the show’s visual effects supervisor is anything to go by.

“In two years we’ll be eligible for the season eight work,” Joe Bauer told the Huffington Post in August.

“We’re going to be toiling away on season eight until May of 2019, so it’s eight or nine months away.”
